CAYAMBE, ECUADOR- JUNE 29: A typical family of the indigenous community of Santo Domingo 1 is preparing for the celebration in honor of “San Pedro”. She is dressed in colourful blouses and skirts, also using jewellery typical of the area. Indigenous communities of the Cayambe canton, located an hour from Quito, Ecuador, celebrate every year the “San Pedro” on the day of the saint, 29 of June. This feast coincides with the winter solstice, and indigenous people dance in processions from their mountain villages through the San Pedro de Cayambe town, giving thanks for the harvest.
