ILUMAN, ECUADOR – JUNE 25: The Yachak association of the Kichwa people of Iluman (Indigenous people who take care of the knowledge of traditional medicine and the philosophy of the different Andean peoples) celebrated the Inti Raymi festival in the poglio or sacred water fountain, located at the foot of the Volcano “Taita” Imbabura, north of the Ecuadorian capital Quito, yesterday June 25, 2017. Every year, the Yachak or Shamans give thanks to the mother earth or “Pachamama” during the summer solstice parties, in which they offer typical products of the area such as corn, beans, fruits, vegetables, animals minors, and end with the traditional “pambamesa” or community food, symbol of the unity of peoples.
